HANDICAPS/SCORE POSTING

  • The purpose of the USGA Handicap System is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing abilites to compete on an equitable basis. Fair handicapping depends upon full and accurate information regarding a player’s potential ability as reflected by a complete scoring record. Every player must be responsible for returning all acceptable scores. Any time 13 or more holes are played the player must post a 18 hole score. If 7-12 holes are completed, a nine hole score must be posted.

  • The Handicap Committee will review the scoring records of all current members on a monthly basis and prepare a report that will be available to the Board and the membership. Members posting less than 60% of their score will receive a letter asking them to explain the discrepancy. If there is no response, or if the explanation is unsatisfactory, the Board may decide to apply sanctions approved by the USGA and the HG Club Professional
